» A. General requirements to rent a Vehicle |

At the moment of the pick up, the main driver must have : valid driver's license from his country of residence, valid ID and credit card. Alamo has a book with all the licenses of countries that receive paxs and the manager of each office has the power to deny a reservation if it is not under the parameters of the book.
Sometimes cash deposit is accepted, but this option is not always available. |

The car model and photograph is only informative, regarding the vehicle category. Car model is subject to availability at pick up time in the office. |

At the front desk, the agents would answer any question regarding the rental. If extra services - such as optional coverages - were added to the prepaid reservation, the driver will have to signed the rental agreement where the price breakdown is desplayed. Any extra item will be charged directly to customers. |

Upgrades: In case customer chose a different category from the one he paid for, he would incurr in extra charges to be directly paid at the location. |

Drop charges confirmed at time of confirming/modifying a reservation:
Since June 22, 2023 there were changes to the drop charges including drops where there were none previously. Reservations confirmed before the changes will be honored as long as no modifications are made to the reservation. If a reservation is modified, please ensure you quote the newly confirmed rates and drop charges. Any changes to a reservation may affect the rate and drop charges. Do not promote any free or old drop charge amounts. Please ensure all employees and accounts are aware of this. The system will quote any fees, if applicable for any destination. All one-way fees need to be quoted based on what the system provides at time of reservation. One-way fees are subject to change at any time without prior notice. |

» B. Cancellation Policy |
|
|
Penalties: Cancellation of car reservation within 1 hour from pick up date will incur 100% penalty. Any reservation considered a no show, will incur 100% penalty. |

|
» C. Rental Rates |
|
|
Daily Rental rates are based on a 24-hour rental day starting at the time of rental. The minimum charge is one day, plus mileage, if applicable. The renter will be charged for each hour and/or any part of an hour in excess of a rental day, up to the applicable daily rate. If the renter fails to comply with the conditions applicable to the rate, including any geographic driving restrictions, a mileage charge, surcharge or other rates may apply. |

» D. Age Requirement |
|
|
See below Alamo's policies about age requierements:

The vehicle's primary renter must be 25 years of age. Rental rates will be higher for renters under age of 25.

Passengers under 25 must pay a fee of aproximately $ 25.
-
Additional drivers must meet the same eligibility requirements as the Primary driver.

All drivers must show a valid driver's license at time of rental.
-
Rental rates may be higher for renters aged 21 - 24. An additional daily fee may apply in most locations (except in New York, the fee is up to $70.82) for all drivers who do not meet the age requirements.

Certain specialty and larger sized vehicles may not be rented to younger drivers.
-
Some locations maintain maximum age limits.

Alamo reserves the right to refuse rental of a vehicle if the renter demonstrates inability to handle road rules and conditions.

Military or Government personnel on official orders renting at government rates may rent at 18 years of age (see Government/Military Rates).

New York state: The minimum age for NY is 18 years of age, subject to a per day surcharge.

Montgomery, AL: Does not permit renters under age 25.

Michigan: The minimum age for MI is 18 years of age. A $45.00 per day fee applies to 18-20 under age renters or $25.00 for renters 21-24.

» E. Additional Driver |
|
|
All additional drivers must meet ALL rental qualifications in regard to age and driving record as well as all other standard rental qualifications.
Must appear at the rental counter with the primary renter.
Must present a valid driver's license from the country of residence.
Must sign the rental agreement.
An additional daily fee may apply for any Additional Drivers.

» F. Driver's License |
|
|
An acceptable, valid (Physical. Not digital) driver's license issued from your country of residence must be presented at the time of rental. The driver's license must be valid for the entire rental period. If the driver's license is in a language other than English, and the rental is in the United States, an International Driver's Permit is recommended. In all cases, a valid driver's license issued from your home country must be provided, whether or not you possess an International Driver's Permit. You will not be allowed to rent a Hertz vehicle with only an International Driver's Permit.
* All locations. If they don't have a drivers license in English for pick up in the US they will need to possess a International Drivers License that accompanies it.

» G. Credit Cards |
|
|
At the time of rental, the renter must present the actual credit card used for each online transaction, with available credit, in their own name, and the signature on the back must match the name imprinted on the card. In addition, the number printed on the card presented by renter must match the number stored for the online transaction.

» H. Debit Cards |
|
|

Debit cards are not allowed for Pre-Pay reservations.

When renting in the U.S., debit and check cards may only be used in conjunction with proof of a round trip travel ticket (airline, cruise ship or train) at time of rental.

A debit/check card is considered to be any non-credit card bearing the VISA, MasterCard or Discover Card logo.
-
Any other non-credit card without the VISA, MasterCard or Discover Card logo is not accepted.

For pick-ups in the United States, without proof of roundtrip ticket, debit or check cards are only accepted when returning the vehicle.

A credit card in the name of the renter must be presented at the time of pick-up.

» I. Gas Policy |
|
|

As a customer, you have a choice as to how you would like to pay for fuel.
-
You will be provided with two options, both starting with a full tank of fuel in your vehicle at the time of rental.

– Option 1: Upfront Fuel
This option allows a renter to pay for the full tank of gas at the time of rental and return the tank empty. No refunds will be given for unused gas.
– Option 2: Return Full or Pay Alamo for Gas
This option allows a renter to return the vehicle with a full tank of gas or pay Alamo at the end of the rental for gas used but not replaced. Price per gallon/litre will be higher than local fuel prices.

Important Note: For Europeans booking in the US and Canada, unless included in the rate package, payment for this tank will be required at time of rental. No refund will be given for fuel purchased but not used.

The total upfront fuel charge reflected is an estimate based on current prices and the average tank size for the car class reserved. This charge may change upon time of rental.

» J. Luxury Car Policy |
|
|
For rentals in the United States and Canada, the following is required when renting a luxury car.
Requirements for renters with proof of airline arrival:

Major credit card in renter's name presented at time of rental (No cash deposits allowed).

Present an airline ticket, receipt, itinerary, or boarding pass in renter's name.

» K. Rental Extensions |
|
|

When a customer wishes to extend a rental, the additional charges will be paid directly to the renting location at the current local rate. The original rate of rental is not guaranteed for the extended portion of the rental term.

If the client doesn’t pick up his car before midnight the reservation will be considered a no show and will be automatically cancelled in the system.

» L. Responsibility for Rental Vehicle |
|
|

Alamo holds the renter responsible for the safe return of the rental vehicle in the same condition as it was rented, except for normal wear and tear.

Unless prohibited by law, a renter may be held responsible for all damages, including loss of use, should the vehicle be damaged in an accident, stolen or vandalized. This is the case regardless of fault. Whether who is at fault in the accident, the renter may be asked to pay for the damage up to and including the total cost of replacing the vehicle in case of a total wreck or loss.

Be sure any estimated damage to the vehicle has been recorded properly before leaving the rental location.
